Coins come from selling scrap, ores, gems, corpses, and relics at a trading post. Cores come from the chest's separate Core payout, not from the coin price.
Chest tiers
In a run, Wooden, Golden, Diamond, and Void chests use 1x, 2x, 5x, and 10x multiples on the Core formula in the Cores guide. The lobby chest shop sells a Common chest for 100 Cores, a Gold chest for 250, a Diamond chest for 500, and a Void chest for 1,000. Treat Common and Wooden as the same bottom tier only when you are looking at a specific shop label. The two lists use different names.
A Wooden Chest can be a Mimic. It chases you and explodes after 10 seconds. Do not open a chest while standing on top of it if you cannot move away.
Selling
Take the item out with F, then drag it to the sell station. Bought shop items sell back for less than the buy price. A Money Fog doubles every item's price while it lasts. Trading-post prices past 100 km rise by 0.2x for every 100 km.
Scrap pieces are listed from 75 to 2,500 coins. That range is wide because scrap has rarities. Since 26 September 2026 every item has a rarity from Common to Mythic.
Relics with published prices
| Item | Coins | Where it comes from |
|---|---|---|
| Rare Shard | 500 | Chests |
| Legendary Shard | 2,500 | Chests |
| Void Crystal | 5,000 | The 100 km wall. Item and church notes say guaranteed. A later layers edit says 25%. |
| Heartgem | 5,000, or 25,000 if Pristine | Heart of the Earth. A mineshaft edit also allows it above 1,000,000 m. |
Excalibur and King's Gear are chest drops. An Excalibur badge exists, with 5,131 awards on the 19 October 2026 listing. The exact chest odds are not published. Do not sell them if the party is still inside a run and someone can equip them. Churches past 100 km are the way to keep gear for a later run.
Fuel items, because they compete with selling
| Item | Fuel |
|---|---|
| Coal | 25 |
| Gas can | 75 |
| Void coal | 100 |
| Propane tank | 200 |
If the next wall is Clay, Crystal, or the 100 km wall, burn fuel items before you sell them.
